“We are extremely proud to start shipping Origin Keyboard,” says Frédéric Brun, President of Arturia. “This is an instrument breaking new boundaries by mixing the latest technologies and the grand tradition of quality and innovation in sound synthesis.”

  1. I love the sounds of this synth, to have good emulations of Jupiter 8 and CS80 with poly aftertouch is fantastic. But… Am I the only one who will not buy this synth because of the weird design?
Please put the knobs and display on the keyboard where they belong and are easily accessible!
It looks terrible and is impractical in a live situation. It will be difficult to see you bandmates!
Finally: Make it black. Look at Virus, Motix XF and Kurzweil PC3K… beauties!

    1. Have ever seen kieth Emerson play, knobs all over the place, who do you need to see in the band, do you know the songs, you don’t make any sence ,man.great concept great keyboard its just a sound source, use it or don’t, but dont criticize.or why don’t you create one, and let’s see how it turns out. I might say yours is crap and I won’t buy it you would not like that , would you.

  2. I'll stick to the software versions… Not worth the money to have it only semi modular and using a 6 year old plugin at it's core… Tech has improved along with sound quality, and there are many better choices out there for someone who wants an all in one super synth… From using the plugins, I'm positive a virus snow/little phatty/blofeld/reaktor combo is waaaaay more powerful, and for around the same money… But it sure looks sexy…

    1. You guys should respect company’s that a trying to innovate. Instead of companies like Roland , korg, and Yamaha giving you the same re hashed junk f so buy and or the last 15 year’s, v synth is a prime example good idea but very underpowered. So buy and keep innovation alive.

  3. I have the rack version. I'd like the keyboard version just because I like keyboards attached to my sound module so I can reach over and press a key instead of routing a controller through my computer to my module etc.

The Origin sounds great. I would put it's sound up against my Andromeda for sure. I would have liked to see the module centered a bit more but it probably is fine as is.
It sounds much better than most plug-ins , much better than my Blofeld. I don't have a Virus TI, which is very nice or Little phatty (which is a very limited mono synth) so I can't compare much to them other than what I've heard at stores. I wouldn't call it semi modular though. You have a bunch of modules that you can connect in all kinds of useful and useless ways, just like a real modular. It's more flexible than 99% of the synths out there, maybe less than a Nord G2 modular but it sounds a lot better than the Nord.
