In part one of this three part series, Moog Product Development Specialist, Amos Gaynes shows you how to integrate the Minitaur Analog Bass Synthesizer into Ableton Live:
Learn how to connect your Minitaur using a multi-channel audio interface, setup your session, and produce a simple track. Part one covers MIDI sequencing, filter automation, using the Minitaur as an external instrument, using the Minitaur Editor to load presets, and how to manually dial in basic sounds.
See our previous Moog Minitaur posts for lots more about the new bass synth or the Moog site for details.
I think you can get some nice kicks out of that miniature.
But moog and midi ?
I have seen Amos doing this before for the little phatty.
Yeah connect to midi and play 🙂
But if you check out the forum of moog little phatty you will see that it’s not always that easy 🙂
It’s analog !
But hey,I like the miniature!
How long do we need to wait for this beast here in Nord Europe?
It’s not fair .
You fucking my mind since namm 2012 with that beast.
i think Amos works at every music store I have ever been too.
Naw, he’s _way_ too knowledgable. He may seem a little nervous, but he’s a good speaker.
This is actually a very cool video with some tips/reminders that are applicable when using Live with any analogue device. And I don’t believe the iPad was mentioned at all! Lol
Nicely done video. The software looks good and the method he showed with a mono timbal synth and editor librarian is surprisingly effective from my experience with an ultranova. I didn’t see the software recall work in the video though. He seemed to just edit the bass to the kick. Why not recall it through the editor? Nice to see that the knobs transmit midi for each parameter. My dark energy can’t do anything like that (but it sounds better).
What is the multi-channel interface used in the video??
And can anyone recommend a good multi-channel interface that I could use for this purpose, that is not too expensive??
Incredible.
does anyone have success using step automation in live with the miniatur? envelope times get ignored completely or don’t step back to their original value after the event.
