Live Cover Of Jean Michel Jarre’s Rendez-Vous IV

Sunday Synth Jam: Here’s something for the Jean Michel Jarre fans – Kebu, aka Sebastian Teir, performs Rendez-Vous IV, live at the Doo-Bop Club, Vaasa, 12.5.2012.

“This tune by Jarre is one of the most joyful tunes in the world and always makes me smile,” notes Kebu. “Therefore, I picked this one as of the very few covers I performed at my mini-tour in May 2012.”

Technical details:

The song was performed using only analog synthesizers, either played live or sequenced. The performance was recorded line in to one of the cameras. The ambience in the club was recorded using the built-in microphones on two of the remaining cameras and mixed together with the line signal.

Equipment used in this song: Arp Odyssey Mk II; Korg Polysix, Poly 61, Mono/Poly, Micro-preset M500; Roland TR-808, Juno 60, Alpha Juno 1&2; Moog Source, Touched-by-sound DRM1, Oberheim Matrix 6R, Yamaha RM1x (only for MIDI sequencing), Behringer DDX3216, Lexicon MPX500, as well as a midi patchbay and additional preamps for my mixer. Cameras: Canon HF100 (x2), HF200 and HF406.

well done , hate the tune but you did a good job, I have seen Jarre a few times and you did it justice, v las vegas that track

  2. Leave that hair alone Kebu….its part of what makes you great…..from a 48 year old who is finally letting his hair grow long because I can…..who is collecting his own set of synths like you and because it pisses the wife off….for which I always tell her…..”It’s my mid-life crisis and I could be buying a Porsche and looking for a mistress. But I choose long hair and synths ! BE GLAD !!!!!

    Rock on Kebu !

  3. So long time i wasn’t so moved!!!
My favourite tune when i was just a teenager and learnt about JMJ….
The most touching thing is to see how much you are enjoying playing your synths and this music and the happyness that comes from your performance!
Thank you so much my friend!!!

  4. I have been listening and playing Jarre covers since I was 13 (42 now) – what a great cover, beautifully arranged. Makes me wish I had the time to do this also. Very, very envious of the gear – its like a classic car collection of synths!!
