2014 NAMM Show: Genelec have announced the newest member of the 8000 series monitors, the Genelec 8010.
Genelec 8010 is a compact monitor, designed for small studios, OB vans, and mobile work.
Features:
- Excellent response and SPL (96dB) despite size of cabinet (195 x 121 x 116mm)
- 8000-series standard room calibration controls
- Aluminium chassis, protected drivers
- Bi-Amplified w/efficient Class D power amplifiers
- Intelligent Signal Sensing circuitry fitted, which can be bypassed if desired
- Compatible with a wide variety of Genelec mounting accessories
- Universal input voltage for traveling audio professionals
- Balanced XLR input
- Compatible with 7050 Subwoofer

I wonder how much difference there is between these and the 6010B. I’ve had these as portable monitors for 3 years and they are simply fantastic.
SAME HERE – I was hoping they’d say something about what distinguishes them from the 6010A’s, as I was just looking to “upgrade” to the new M40 models – guess we’ll have to wait to hear that answer 🙁 but at the end of the day, all their stuff is amazing, so I wouldnt be too worried about quality…
Looks like XLR inputs, slightly higher SPL and better bass response.
