Utami, the creators of RokVid and Geisterwelt for Ableton Live, have released Motion – a motion-tracking plugin for Live – as a free download

Motion is a Max for Live device that lets you use your webcam or any connected camera to convert motion to MIDI data that can be mapped to any knob, slider, or parameter in Live.

You can adjust the sensitivity of the camera, record motions and loop or freeze them, and layer many copies of Motion at the same time for a totally unique and controller-free way to perform.

Motion is now 100% free. For any of the earlier adopters who paid for Motion, Utami will give you a free copy of Space Time and their newest plugin, Deconstruct, as a thank you for your support.

Utami has also released Deconstruct a realtime remix engine. Here’s the official video intro:

Deconstruct lets you make a remix in realtime.  It works with live input, so you can cut up your tracks on the fly, create new rhythms, reverse your drums, screw with live vocals, repitch or detune anything and snap it right back to where it was with just a knob twist.

Deconstruct is designed to be played — both on stage or in your studio.  With eight buttons for quick remixing, you can tap out new rhythms with your controller or a mouse.  Slice and change the pitch and everything stays connected to your underlying BPM.  Add legato and when you chop up your sounds you’ll find secret effects and tricks waiting to come out.

Deconstruct is available for US $7 from the Utami site.
