This video, via Flux, offers a hands-on demo of how to mod an Arturia MiniBrute or MicroBrute.
Though mods will void your warranty, the Brutes seem to have been designed to be fairly DIY mod friendly. And synth designer Yves Usson, who collaborated with Arturia on the Brute synths, has previously shared 5 different mods.
Here are the pad outs that Flux discusses in his video:
—- LFO OUTS :
PT34 = SAW LFO , PT32 = TRIANGLE LFO, PT35 = SINE LFO, PT33 SQUARE LFO, PT130 = RANDOM LFO,
PT176 SELECTED LFO
——- VCO OUTS :
PT180 = SQUARE SUB VCO, PT7 = SQUARE VCO, PT119 = TRIANGLE VCO, PT120 = SAW VCO
—————-
MICROBRUTE
TP93= SQUARE VCO, TP94 = SAW VCO, TP102 = SUB VCO, TP124 = TRIANGLE VCO
If you’ve done these mods or others, share your the details in the comments!
If this voids my Service Warranty then forget it……
He should use different colour wires for the different signal types.
ie.
Black (or green) for ground /earth
Red for “V+” positive supply voltage
… Other colours for audio-rate signals and control-rate (low frequency) signals.
Intetesting!
What I don’t get from the description is that are those pins LFO outs only for MiniBrute or also for MicroBrute?
MB already had LFO out on the patch bay!!! 🙂
It does, but it’s only the one waveform at the time, the one you select from LFO wave selector. Not all 3 simultaneously.
