This video captures the late Earl Smith Jr., aka DJ Spank Spank of Phuture, explaining the origin of the ‘acid’ bassline style.
The video comes from an upcoming Dutch Public Television (NTR) documentary about electronic music, Planet Elektro, which will be released Oct 22. NTR interviewed Earl Smith in February of this year.
