At Superbooth 17, being held April 20-22 in Berlin, Novation is introducing Circuit Mono Station, a new monophonic synth and sequencer.
The Novation Circuit Mono Station combines the velocity-sensitive RGB pads and sequencing workflow of the popular Circuit, with a paraphonic analog synthesizer that originates from the Bass Station II.
The Circuit Mono Station has two oscillators that can be individually controlled, three distortion modes, plus one multi-mode filter with high-pass, low-pass or band-pass.
The sync and tuning parameters of its two oscillators can be individually controlled. It offers four waveshapes (sawtooth, triangle, square and sample + hold), a sub-oscillator, ring modulation and noise generation. Users can get the frequency band they want by applying high-pass, low-pass and band-pass filters with slopes of 12dB and 24dB. In addition, Circuit Mono Station features a powerful overdrive.
Both monophonic and paraphonic modes are available, and you can control each oscillator individually with its own sequencer. In total, there are three sequencer tracks: two oscillator sequencers and one modulation sequencer. Users can alter Gate length, switch patterns instantly, choose sync rate and mutate patterns.
A four-by-eight modulation matrix makes it possible to route from LFO with the four waveshapes, envelope, sequencer or velocity, enabling complex modulation for pitch, pulse-width, amp, filter, distortion or CV. Up to 64 patches can be loaded and saved on the device.
Circuit Mono Station can also sequence other analog hardware via CV, Gate and modulation outputs. And it has MIDI In, Out and Thru, so for use with other MIDI gear.
The Circuit Mono Station also offers Audio In, opening up a world of analog filtration and distortion. Using the audio input with the mod sequencer, an audio source can be modulated, evolved and processed in new ways.
Via USB, the Circuit Mono Station can be connected to a Mac or PC, for patch management using Components.

I am really curious if, knowing the way novation is that they set up future FW to use the audio in for ring modulation and vocoding…
Novation is batting a thousand with the new synths – they both look really interesting.
Are there audio demos for the Mono Station?
I am getting this. THANKS Novation, now I will never be able to pay off my Sweetwater Card!
No sine waves?
So we will hear only chainsaw massacre sounds?
It has triangle. And square. Both can be pretty mellow
How many synths do you know that have sinewave oscillator? There are very few!
Bass Station 2
analog sines honestly suck too digital ones are way better
I really like the look of this but bought the monologue recently, if they bring out a four voice analogue of this I’ll def buy it. I love the circuit style of synthesis, but hate the digital voicing…
Awesome! Now give us an analogue drum machine in a similar form factor and I will be over the moon.
Whether it’s analogue or digital (or both!?) Novation REALLY need to come out with the Drum Station II. Their take on the DrumBrute/TR-8.
Check out the latest article on Synthtopia (August 14 2017) – you sort of got what you wished for
Sweet!
Love the cv/gate connectivity. Not so big on 1/8″ midi connections, but mainly because companies haven’t got that standardized yet.
This will find a place next to my Circuit!
How many sequencer tracks?
Crushing it at the Superbooth!
the equivalent of a cheap sportscar “pimped” by flanging on a spoiler and bigger muffler
I can’t imagine caring how expensive other people’s cars are.
Trying to find if it has USB Audio Interface inside (USB Audio output in DAW), so I can use it without external Audio Interface, any ideas?
