Details are available at the Sequentix site.
Finally a rainbow colored display sequencer yay 🙂
(Insert joke about portable computers with usb host support, full color displays, blazing CPUs and gigs of memory for lower prices here.)
2000 euro xD
Squarp Instruments Hapax blows Cirklon out of the water. Way more usable, practical, and cheaper. Don’t waste your money, it’s basically a meme at this point and is one of the most un-fun sequencers you will ever use.
The Cirklon can sequence many more tracks, can be connected to many more modular and CV instruments the OS is much more mature and refined and rock solid timing. However, the Hapax has its own peculiarities as well.
Comparing sequencers is somewhat meaningless, like comparing DAWs
Reputation too. Cirklon has an outstanding reputation. Tried and tested as being the work horse of many really large setups. Squarp has a good reputation but you won’t have to look far to find people complaining about unfinished firmware and bugs.
Ridiculous price. Makes OP-XY feel not as overpriced as it is. Could buy two Synthstrom Deluges for that or a Digitakt + Digitone combo and still pocket some change. What are these people thinking?
But despite all that you still couldn’t do many things that the Cirklon can do and vice versa.
19 rotary encoders with push-switches … twist’em push’em yeah baby f.f.f.f
2 assignable knobs … ooh.la.laa
35 Cherry keys … lip-smackin good
A further 35 tri-colour status LEDs … yee-haa *_*
Movable rear panel allows desktop or rackmount … turn yer rack around show us yer caboose
…
A ‘gang bar’ knob … dang gotta get one o’those ^_^
Silly at best, its 2025 now not 1995
Nobody wants this
Its not 1990 anymore
The original in this form factor is from 2011 and v2 is from 2020.
It has been selling very successfully lately and this is probably what’s making it more available now.
It is still unmatched by anything available today in terms of the number of tracks, complexity, timing, and maturity of the operating system.
I had one, hated the workflow, and sold it for more than I paid because of the waiting list.
You do need to invest time and effort to learn it
Many producers in the German techno and electro scene have successfully used the Berlin-made Cirklon as the central hub of their studios for the past decade, and you can hear it all over their release catalogs. It works really well for some of us. If it doesn’t work for you, that’s okay – There are plenty of other options to explore. Have fun!
A lot has changed since a decade as we have way more options for sequencers nowadays like the Squarp Hapax, Oxi One, Deluge, and a bunch more.
V2 is from about 2020, yet in many ways, it still has not been surpassed
Very very happy with my Oxi One.
I just wish you could do polyrhythms on it, there is no way I will buy a sequencer again that cant.
Rihard has single handedly sold the most cirklons just like Florian with the TB3. I’ll leave this thing to the pros like Steffi. Very happy with the Oxi One after a long research vs the Hapax.
The TB-3 was discontinued before his channel even started out… The only people profitting from it are the ones reselling a previously hard to sell device.
I would stick with my oxi one even if it weren’t much cheaper than this thing.
Ppl getting pretty mad about the most feature rich and highest quality hardware sequencer ever made. I don’t get why ppl are so butt hurt on Synthtopia, or think comparing two completely different pieces of gear is a worthwhile comment. Comments about price are so overplayed, boring and mostly based on a lack of knowledge.
The Butthurt card dont work anymore its not 1995. Move on.
Clearly, it still does 🙂
Ah yes, the defender. A comment section staple. One that’s as useless as any attacker, really. No one in their right mind reading up on potential (expensive) product purchases should bother taking anonymous opinions in account anyway.
