In this video, Espen Kraft takes a look at the vintage Sequential Circuits TOM drum machine.
The Sequential TOM lets you control volume, tune, pan and direction of each sound. Patterns can include program changes for each sound, too. The sounds can also be expanded using cartridges, which lets you mix and match sounds into your patterns.
If you’ve used the TOM, share your thoughts on it in the comment!
Used to have one of those would team it up with an alesis sr-16 drum machine for some cool rhythm sets. Would link it to a Sequential Circuits Six-Trak unit and build weird sequences. It was fun stuff. Cool review but the guys voice made me feel sleepy.
nah, kick way too thin. linndrum and dmx/dx killed it. even the drumulator sounded better.
I’d look for one, if I didn’t have a Korg DRM-1 module. TOM would be nice to use with Multitrak. I’ve got 12-bit drum stuff covered, and I sequence from Logic these days.
