Reader Matt Carter lets us know about a new live electronic music performance collective in Western Canada, Oscill8.

Here’s what he has to say about Oscill8:

Registered as a nonprofit performance and arts society, its main purpose is to promote live electronic music and create opportunity for live artists in a market saturated with dj performances.  These are artists that blur the line between the stage and the studio.  Wielding sometimes massive rigs of hardware synthesizers, sequencers, effects and drum machines, the music is generated tweaked and transformed in the moment able to evolve into any direction the artist wishes.

The collective is currently hosting a series of monthly showcase events to raise awareness in the city of Calgary, with plans to expand its reach throughout Western Canada.
