    1. Before Behringer announced cheap eurorack modules, Dreadbox already had a set of cheap eurorack modules. There are also a few other manufacturers of cheap (but good) eurorack modules. Behringer was not even around then.
      So what is the point?

    2. By ‘affordable’, you presumably mean ‘the same price bracket as Doepfer, the very first Eurorack manafaturer?’. The idea that ALL eurorack modules are expensive is a myth, there has always been a range of options in the sub 100 euro range.

      1. … to the eurorack rescue!
Perfect Circuit audio has a nice selection of eurorack modules. Go to the eurorack section, select filter by price, and turn it to $100. You will find some options but you wont get too far in the world of eurorack with those modules.
I’m sure there are options, 2hp, erica synths, and a few others that are making eurorack more accessible but let’s not act like its not few and far between. It’s just nice to see more manufacturers hitting a more accessible price point.
        Point complete.

  1. Heard them yesterday on Dutch Modular Fest, they sound very good! Loved the oscillator, also very performance friendly with the octave switch and note indications on the fine tune.

  2. Some of these are cheaper than the cheapest case available in America. And the case is essentially sheet metal. When Moog makes the cheapest version of something, you know the bottom end of that market is begging to be blown out like a bad case of diarrhea.

So my question is who and when?

    1. “When Moog makes the cheapest version of something, you know the bottom end of that market is begging to be blown out like a bad case of diarrhea.”

Behringer’s knockoff of Moog’s Euro case isn’t significantly cheaper. So don’t be hoping for a ‘case of diarrhea’ to house your modules in anytime soon.

    2. The case is not the problem, my guy. The problem is the power supply. A pair of vector rails can be had for $20-$40 (check etsy) and can be pretty easily mounted in any box that’s vaguely the right size. Power, however, is brutal by comparison… the cheapest option that doesn’t involve soldering comes in at about $100. A $50 eurorack power supply would change the game, allowing for sub-$100 skiffs to be a reality.
