Erica Synths let us know that the first batch of Perkons HD-01 drum synthesizer is completely sold out, but, in spite of the global part shortages, they have the necessary parts for producing a second batch.
They also shared two new video demos. The first, above, provides an overview of the Perkons HD-01.
The second video, below, demonstrates the sonic possibilities of the Perkons HD-01:

Looks like a hell of a lot of fun to jam on. Creative boutique rhythm machine that is less weird than the Soma Pulsar. I dig it. Or is this just crazy, like the OP-1 field?
Good question! I was in a conversation with a guy about the Pulsar 23 and how fun it was. He asked hos much it cost and I told him about the same price as the OP-1 field. He instantly went to a hate fest for the Op-1 and wouldnt explain why or admit that one does more than the other. It was all emotion and and no logic. I considered checking out the Perkons but when with the Pulsar when i realized MIDI can control alot of its parameters and I already have a few ways to sequence. The Syntrx 2 is the next on my radar, again, similar in price to the op-1 field and when Synthtopia post about it, crickets.
Maybe it’s just the tastes of the people making the demos, but the kick seems to have this dirty, furry character that never goes away. I like it, but I generally gravitate toward cleaner kicks.
I would very much like to see Stimming review this one.
Its not just the kick it’s just more pronounced with kicks, its all very distorted but It got analog filter and analog VCA/distortion so I guess they tend to use it on the demos and this is where it shine, but some example are cleaner on the start of the second video.
There is something very musical about precise digital drum synthesis with analog filter drive and distortion
16 steps are really short.
not my cup of tea.
