An Interview With Pioneering Synthesist & Soundscape Ecologist Bernie Krause

Moog Music has released the second in its Giants documentary series, which features pioneering synthesists sharing their stories of the early days of synthesizers.

The new synthesizer video features synthesist and soundscape ecologist Bernie Krause.

Krause tells the story of getting his start as a session guitarist, doing Motown gigs, and how this led to work in LA, connecting with early synthesist Paul Beaver, and a career as one of the first gigging synthesists. And his work with Beaver led him to experiment with recording natural soundscapes, which became the focus of his career.

The previous video in the Giants series featured an interview with Moog modular co-inventor Herb Deutsch.
