Asparion has introduced the D700 DAW controller, a modular system that features LED push buttons and RGB rotary encoder controllers and up to 64 motorized faders:
The D700FT forms the basis. Besides all basic functions like “play”, “stop” and “record”, you can control the master volume with an RGB encoder. The buttons Pan, EQ, Send and FX will assign the respective function to the rotary encoders. Sockets to connect a sustain or expression pedal lets you add additional foot control. You can connect up to 7 extensions to the D700FT, which give you up to 64 motorized faders.
The D700F adds 8 motorized faders, with 4 LED push buttons each and an RGB rotary encoder with a LED ring, to give you full control over additional tracks.
The D700 system can also be extended with an OLED display. Alongside 3 lines of text with up to 12 characters plus the track number, the display offers a metering view with clipping.
Connected via USB-C, the D700 can send Midi messages to almost any device. From a computer to a tablet up to a smartphone. Besides the universal Midi CC mode, the D700 is also compatible to the Mackie and HUI protocol.

DAW controller prices getting out of control. ^^
“yet another control surface”
Really more stuff you don’t need!
CRAZY pricing.
I’d like to have some of what they are smoking, coming up with those ridiculous prices.
Typical Synthopia comment section, toxic af. Before posting complaints about price because you feel entitled to cheap plastic toys, you might consider changing hobby and get nerf guns instead. I had my hands on some prototypes of these, and if they are any indication for the final build quality, they feel amazing. Especially compared to something like a Behringer or Icon Controller. Then there is software, does any of the posters above, complaining about “yet another” get what mqtt and OSC would allow them to do?
It is the usual consumer vs boutique discussion. This is a small shop of enthusiasts from Germany, building a dream product at insanely high quality. Compared to what you get from other high end vendors, these can easily compete with Avid or SSL hardware, while keeping very high interop across a broad range of software (and hardware), thanks to protocol support. At this point, my only gripe is that it is not entirely open source, but that is just me and my FOSS fetish. The price is right if you need quality, if you want to create a creative space with hands on control and flexibility.
