Exclusively Analogue Pioneer Tribute Builds On Legacy Of Classic E-mu Modular Synthesizer

In this video, from the Sonic State coverage of SynthFest UK 2023, Tony Wride from Exclusively Analogue discusses their Pioneer Tribute modular system, a modern take the classic E-mu modular synthesizer.

The Pioneer Tribute modules are redesigned E-mu modules that, while matching the look and feel of the original, use updated circuit designs. Wride says that the updated modules have been made with the approval and input of E-mu founder Dave Rossum. For example, some of the original designs used parts that are now unobtanium, so the modules have been updated using Rossum’s own integrated circuit designs.

The modules are physically and electrically compatible with the originals, so they can be used to complete or expand an existing system, or as part of a new system.

Wride notes that the new modules would not exist, if not for his luck in getting a rare vintage E-mu system from an unusual source, as he explains in the video.

See the Exclusively Analogue site for details on the Pioneer Tribute modules.

  1. These are truly great modules – and very good prices too. I have several of Tony’s modules and I love them. He REALLY knows his stuff, and has helped to renovate my vintage Emu Modular over the past few years
