GForce Software has introduced AXXESS, a new software synth for Mac & Windows, inspired by the vintage ARP Axxe synthesizer.

I miss Way Out Ware’s SynthX (also based on the Axxe iirc though polyphonic) on the iPad – it had a cool and very playable multitouch playing surface UI that showed the waveforms right underneath your fingers as you played. I don’t think I’ve seen that in any other app. The rest of the UI was unusual but compact and functional.

The web site hasn’t been updated in a decade, but apparently some of their software is still available through other publishers?
I’ve never tried Oddity, but Korg’s ARP Odyssei app is one of my favorites.
