Photosynthesis is a new store in Olympia, Washington that specializes in flowers…and synthesizers

Partners Radio and Tasha created a store for both of their passions. They say that the idea for Photosynthesis was born out of their love for creating music, Radio’s love of synthesizers and Tasha’s passion for growing and sharing flowers.

“Just as photosynthesis transforms light energy into chemical energy, we hope that our community-minded space, our intentional bouquets and our carefully curated synthesizer shop will nurture you,” they say on their website.

The owners also want the store to help people connect.

The store offers a flower bar, featuring locally-grown flowers, custom flower arrangement, and floral services for special occasions. And, in addition to offering synthesizers and modular gear, they try to offer a space where musicians can meet each other and learn about synths.

Upcoming events include a launch event for Patterning 3 Drum Machine and an Introduction to Synthesis class.

An early customer shared a review on the Modwiggler forum, saying:

“The store is very warm and welcoming…a totally cool environment. A super nice bonus is they have free parking in the lot they share with a couple other businesses. This is a big deal in downtown Oly, where most parking is only available in paid lots or paid parking meters.

They’re also bookended with a couple of downtown Oly longtime landmark cool businesses, with Rainy Day Records on one side and Orca Books on the other.”

Their stock includes gear from Doepfer, Korg, Make Noise, Moog, Sequential and others. See their site for information on their location, events and hours.

  1. Hey, that’s Radio Sloan! That’s awesome; I remember loving The Need way back when, and I’m glad they’re still doing good work.
