Here’s an in-depth demo via OXI and SchneidersLaden:
Pricing and Availability:
The OXI One mk2 is available to pre-order, starting at $879,00 with shipping planned to by the beginning of June.
I mean its awesome. However „most affordable“ makes me question my income tbh
lol I know right I guess it is ‘affordable’ for the features in a hardware device but considering all in you are paying close to a thousand dollars for it, a laptop is probably more affordable.
That’s fking awesome a week after I received my pre order I’ve waited months for
My wish for an MK3:
Remove everything on the left side and replace that with a touchscreen.
Color match everything on the screen with the buttons of the grid.
This way you keep the muscle memory that buttons provide.
It also opens the door to more different workflows. (specially overview)
Now it’s a flatter more durable portable device.
With a lot more possibilities for future updates.
(could save costs with a regular display instead of touch but I much more prefer touch)
I feel touchscreens are fine for the studio, but don’t really work well in live situations. It’s too easy to accidentally mess things up with sweaty hands while you’re bouncing around in stage, and they can be hard to read both in dark clubs with glaring lights and in bright sunshine.
A screen is fine in the club as lots of DJ devices have them as well.
If it was really a dealbreaker companies wouldn’t have sold them so much and keep making them. If you’re really sweating than maybe keep a towel around the neck?
Also I don’t see why there couldn’t be a toggle switch to turn on/off the touch capacity of the screen.
That’s a terrible idea. Get a newer MPC if you want a touch screen or use the thing in your pocket. Better yet, buy a 13″ iPad with M series processor and you can have the best touch screen or whatever you want…
You’re not explaining at all why it would be a bad idea.
i would have picked ‘busy’ over ‘inspiring’. but i can play a keyboard… so there’s that.
John, are you okay? Your constant stream of negativity on this page reminds me of my last depression. Have you considered talking to a mental health professional?
no. when i see a product i don’t like, i say so. shrug. being steeped in positivity is a fools game. got it?
A person in a dark tunnel often mistakes the darkness for normalcy—only those outside the tunnel can see their need for light.
Both optimists and pessimists contribute to society. The optimist invents the aeroplane, the pessimist the parachute. but, the blog philosopher invents nothing.
I really think the Hapax is better, but Oxi is just so much more convenient and portable to use.
If you modular, the OXI has more CVs and gates no?
Surely Beatstep Pro is the king of the ‘affordable’ step sequencer- OXI is great but more of a Rolls Royce of step sequencers…
Rolls Royce of the step sequencer? There’s only one, the Cirklon.
I mean the OXI its great, feature rich but also very confusing. I´ve yet to see someone making good techno with it.
