Verona drumDING Drum Machine (Sneak Preview)

At Superbooth 2025, held May 8-10 at the FEZ-Berlin, Vermona previewed the drumDING, a new hybrid drum machine.

The drumDING features an analog drum voice that can be used to create a wide range of percussive sounds, plus the ability to sample and sequence these sounds.

Here’s a hands-on demo, via Bonedo Synthesizers:

The sequencer combines old-school tactile controls with modern features, like the ability to lock parameters to individual steps. The drumDING also has built-in effects, which can also be sequenced.

Pricing and Availability:

Details are still to be announced, but Vermona is planning on releasing drumDING by the end of 2025.

  1. Now this is way more interesting than the HexDrums. And should give Analog Rytm a run for its money hopefully.

      1. All three use analog and samples to make drum kits, so they are quite similar. Hexdrums samples seem static and only for the cymbals. drumDING lets you physically swap out the analog component so it should be interesting choice against the Elektron.

        1. They are all drum machines, but the Drumding has a unique and very interesting workflow based on analog voices, just one voice with the ability to sample into a 6-track sequencer (16 samples per project) The sampling is automatic, so it records, trigger and automatically cuts the end of the sound with the press of two buttons. Afterwards, you can’t edit the sound, but you can apply effects and modulate them with two LFO’s and “parameter lock” per step to control effect parameters. You can also record other instruments via the stereo input. Pretty clever workflow, very different from the other drum machines you mentioned. it has this bug that makes the modulation send to whatever effect you change in the destination slots, I found that really funny and somewhat inspiring. It sounds very good in person, organic like the DRM1 but tighter, like a sampler.

  2. This is getting bought on release – miss my DRM mkIII and feel like this could bring some of that magic back 🙂
