Behringer Intros Moog Moogerfooger MURF Knockoff

Behringer today introduced the BM-15M MURF Box, a knockoff of the Moog MF-105 MuRF pedal.

Behringer had previously announced plans to copy more than half of Moog’s Moogerfooger line,  but that didn’t include the MURF pedal. With today’s announcement, it looks more and more like Behringer is planning to create ‘Boogerfooger’ knockoffs of Moog’s complete Moogerfooger line.

The Behringer BM-15M MURF BOX, like the original, is designed to let you create sequenced filter patterns. It features 8 filters, selectable patterns, MIDI control and several modulation options,

Features:

  • 8 Filters with selectable patterns
  • Based on the Moog MF-105 from the ’90s
  • Envelope control
  • USB/MIDI control
  • Rate control for modulation speed
  • Resonance control for enhanced filter effect
  • Mix control for blending between input signal and MURF output
  • Expression pedal input for real-time control

Pricing and Availability:

The Behringer BM-15M MURF Box is shipping now from their factory, priced at $129 USD outside the US, and $50 more ($179) for US buyers.

  1. Moog should rerelease all the Moogerfoogers in a dual pedal/eurorack format with an optional pedal enclosure akin to the Mother-32, DFaM and the others. Patch jacks on the surface would also be a plus.

  2. $50 for US buyers? i sense a typo, with the tariffs i’d guess it’s actually $150. Not really my thing but it seems flexible and useful so it’ll probably sell well.

    1. Yeah mogue missed the boat with their stubborn “hand made” archaic philosophy.
They choose to stay in the dark ages over pri$Ed

      1. I think you may have missed the point my friend.
Moog could’ve easily found a middle ground.
These pedals are obviously very desirable to musicians.
They could’ve easily kept their “made in USA” ethos and still made these pedals.
When they were first released they were relatively affordable.
        They could’ve just reissued them.
All that said, I’m sure they had market research and sales data that, at that time, told them it wasn’t viable.
I’m not the biggest fan of B, but they do serve a market that is often neglected by the big hitters (I’m looking at you Roland, with your cloud crap!).

        1. they were to busy trying to sell minimoogs for 4-5000$. ^^
how many of those did they think they`d sell and to whom?
it was bad management trying to sell overpriced mom´s old-fashioned robot oil™ to an already saturated and way cheaper market.

    1. Do you really believe that the insanely high US import taxes are paid by the manufacturers? They’re mainly paid by the buyers 😀

  3. Its too abstract to tackle seriously, but I idly wonder if the music produced on B gear is necessarily better in any way. I’m sure it gives noobs a welcome path to whatever form of synthesis draws them. I’m also sure that we’ve already heard great work that used some of their tools. Alex Paterson of The Orb has several Bs in his rig. So clone shmone! 😛

  4. You all sound like tony soprano telling Artie bucco maybe he should offer two-for’s at Vesuvo…
As You probably can’t understand – at the end of it all, Artie cooks for the love of it, and connects with his family and culture through his grandfathers cookbook,

    1. At the end of the day, it’s just an object. Don’t waste your time anthropomorphising an effects pedal of all things.

  5. Did anyone notice that bearing error released a guitar pedal recently, got sued, then went back and redid the design to be less of a clone, direct copy? It’s the pedal with the centaur on it. Shows that least they can change, if you Shame them enough. I still can’t afford a moog or oberheim. Love my ms20m and monologue. Trying to avoid the berry boogers, but yeah I made a pact with myself, no more synth buying or trolling comments. Instead I will focus on recording with the gear I have, which is tons. Maybe actually try to listen and Jan with others. No one likes a tone deaf musician, those jams usually suck, are too loud. And wow I’m sounding old. We all have our preferences. Pronouns Blindspots, opinions, buttholes…we all have em, just not everyone knows how to manage them. Goal being not too poop on everyone.

  6. I have an original MuRf and it’s really cool. This one looks even better because it combines the features of both the OG and Bass MuRf and then adds the midi and programming functionality of the Midi MuRf. I see this being a huge hit. The MuRf is one of the coolest Foogers made so I think this is a strong choice. I bet it will sell well, and rightly so.

    1. Sorry, Brah, but you don’t seem to understand how page views and comments are metrics used for gauging interest.
