Arturia Intros Rev OCEAN Creative Reverb Plugin

Arturia has introduced Rev OCEAN, an algorithmic reverb plugin designed around a feedback delay network (FDN) engine, with multi-stage diffusion and modulation.

Rather than emulating a specific hardware reverb, it focuses on creating evolving spaces through three Macro Modes—Abyss, Tide, and Foam—that each reshape the reverb tail with different movement and diffusion characteristics.

Rev OCEAN plugin includes controls for size, decay, brightness, filtering, width, ducking, transient shaping, pre-delay, and Freeze, allowing users to build everything from subtle ambience to long, evolving reverberant textures.

Features:

  • Multi-stage diffusion to build dense and evolving reverb tails
  • Three Macro Modes are provided: Abyss, Tide, and Foam
    • Abyss emphasizes harmonically rich, evolving reverb tails
    • Tide introduces phase-like spectral movement within the reverb field
    • Foam produces long-attack, dense reverberant textures
  • Decay time is continuously adjustable
  • Size control adjusts the perceived dimensions of the reverberant space
  • Brightness control shapes the tonal balance of the reverb
  • High-pass and low-pass filters are provided for input and tonal shaping
  • Pre-delay is included for positioning the reverb relative to the dry signal
  • Width control adjusts the stereo image
  • Transient processing helps preserve the clarity of the source signal
  • Ducking reduces the reverb level while the input signal is present
  • Freeze can capture and sustain the current reverb tail indefinitely

Pricing & Availability:

Rev OCEAN is available now for macOS and Windows for $49 USD.
