Novation sends word that its ZeRO SL controller is shipping.

The ReMOTE ZeRO SL hits the streets this month, bundled with Novation’s new Xcite bundle right out of the gate. The Xcite DVD-ROM features a host of powerful applications ideal for today’s music producers, including Ableton Live 5 Lite music production software and Novation’s virtual instrument bass synth ‘Bass Station’. Xcite also features FXpansion’s BFD ultralite and a demo version of GURU, two powerful applications dedicated to building flawless drums and beats, alongside 470 MB of samples exclusively compiled by LoopMasters. With the recent release of the Ableton Live Automap, the powerful manual template for Bass Station and trigger pads ideal for sketching out beats inside FXpansion’s GURU, ZeRO SL and the Xcite bundle are perfectly matched.

ReMOTE ZeRO SL provides a solution for those who already own a controller keyboard but who are desperate to get their hands on Novation’s revolutionary Automap technology (a new technology from Novation, which automatically and logically maps MIDI parameters the instant you boot up your software). Additionally, the lack of keys brings with it a considerable saving, making ZeRO SL the most affordable way to experience the benefits of Automap.

In conjunction with Automap and the two LCD screens that stretch the entire length of the unit, ZeRO SL offers a vast array of assignable controls, including an assortment of knobs, sliders, and buttons, eight musically-responsive drum/trigger pads and Novation’s signature Xpression pad and stick. All of these are pre-programmed with 32 Manual Templates onboard the unit, ensuring ZeRO SL works with all the most popular software instruments, whether Automapping or not. A stylish Template Editor software package is available free on the website, allowing quick and easy construction or modification of Manual and Automap Templates, through the selection of named parameters, rather than looking up MIDI data.
