The Electroacoustic Juke Joint
The Delta Music Institute at Delta State University has announced the Electroacoustic Juke Joint, a two-day festival of electronic music and art, to be held November 9 & 10, 2007.
The Electroacoustic Juke Joint will host artists and scholars from around the world. All events will take place at Po’ Monkey’s Lounge in Merigold and at the Bologna Performing Arts Center on the campus of Delta State University. All Events are open to the community.
Admission to Friday Night’s concert at Po’ Monkey’s will be $5 and all events at BPAC are free. See the schedule for times, places and the list of composers, artists and presenters that are participating.
Delta State University is a regional university with approximately 4,400 students. It is located in Cleveland, MS, and serves as an educational and cultural center of the Mississippi Delta. The Delta Music Institute, housed within the College of Arts and Sciences, is an independent center of recording arts and music industry studies offering a concentration of courses related to the B.A. in Music degree and the B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies degree.
