Um… background image? How hard is it to put an image on an iPhone?

    Obviously not functional.

I agree with Kent. iPhone does not have the necessary platform to support any type of musical creation. Maybe in the future? Wouldn’t be bad if you caught some inspiration while at work or school.

Now if it was a tr-909… you might have had me. Even if it was an 808 it still wouldn’t have proper midi timing without some sort of converter. *wink*

    Long live the 909

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a little 303 and 808/909 on an iPhone?

Funny how many know it alls there are on the net. Look around douche canoe, there are tonnes of music apps for the iphone already out there.

OK, hands up, it was me! I couldn’t resist adding my lovely TR808 pic to my iPhone and people seemed to get very excited about it when I posted it on Flickr!

But hey, here we are nearly a year on and it seems the iPhone does have platform support for music creation. There are all kinds of music apps available. Beatmaker is good; http://www.intua.net/products.html I also use VoiceRecorder for sketching out those ideas too.

Paul – thanks for fessing up.

There are all sorts of cool iPhone apps now – but you had a lot of us fooled with this.

People with musical instruments should be banned from recording studios because they so often center the process around history. They know all the tricks to make things that sound like music. — Brian Eno
