It looks as if a few keys were broken to begin with and he didn't think to open it up and at least take a look. He probably could've jerry-rigged it to work again…It reminds me of the day I went into the local guitar shop and saw some kids looking at a nice looking 12 string guitar with the bridge popped off. They said the repairs were so expensive it would be cheaper to buy a new one, so they were going to smash it up for fun. I said I would take it off their hands, but they refused, even to sell it to me.
Driving home, I pondered all the ways I would've fixed it…
