Ahead of Knobcon 2019, Buchla USA has introduced the Buchla Easel Command Module.
It includes MIDI (USB & DIN) and enclosure, and has a target price $2,999 USD.
The Buchla 208C (MIDI optional) has a target price $2,599 USD.
They are expected to be available in late 2019. Optional preset management coming at a later date.

So the first new product release from the new Buchla USA ownership is a reissue of a reissue. Now with MIDI, a wonderful new technology from 36 years ago.
You really have to wonder if they can keep the legacy alive.
Why are they not bringing back the old Buchla stuff, which is what everyone actually wants? And not in Eurorack format…
I think you need to watch the video again and pay attention to all of the new features before just thinking that only midi capabilities were added. There’s a lot going on with this thing

Does it talk to the 200e bus, or is this yet another bus system?
It will be compatible with the 200e I2C bus once you add the optional preset* upgrade that we’re working on. It won’t be exactly as powerful as other traditional “e” modules, but it will allow for some connectivity. Hopefully we’ll be able to get more details soon about what exactly is controllable via that. Joel and Charles are hard at work looking into it!
