Supercritical let us know that they’ve released a free firmware update for the Redshift 6.
Firmware Update 1.4 introduces MPE, an arpeggiator, multi-part editing for multitimbral patches, new oscillator waveform variants, envelope reset option, and a Sample & Hold waveform for the LFO. There are also 18 new factory presets to showcase the arpeggiator and more.
The arpeggiator is per part, so each part can have its own dedicated arpeggiator. In practice this means six independently running arpeggiators when all six multitimbral parts are in use.
Here’s what’s new in Redshift 6 Firmware v1.4:

- LFOs now have a Sample & Hold waveform

- LFO range is now 0.01-1000Hz, up from 0.1-100Hz

Wasn’t too impressed that this was released with a list of promised features not ready for prime time, BUT, I’ll give them credit for following up and making sure it eventually happened.
Also can’t deny this things has nice potential and sounds great given the now-available features. Let’s hope the updates continue, and given their update status tracker on their website, the chances are good they will. I’m a hair away from clicking the “buy” button, I have to say.
As a last point, I’m not sure why other companies haven’t gone the multitimbral route so much with their analog synths, when the Alesis A6 Andromeda was doing 16-part multitimbral more than 20 years ago. Thank-you Supercritical for realizing this was a smart way to go.
Very pleased to see this progress. I tried this at Superbooth and it was a highlight for me. Some lovely sounds and the team developing it were very cool. It my well up on my buy-list in the future.
Finally analog synth done right. Great sound and features with modern industrial design and now with multitimbral capabilities as well 🙂

I’ll never get tired to say how special this synth is.
Bought it on first release for its raw sound, and constantly being updated with great features.
It’s complex, yet so easy to navigate.
Features aside, it just sounds gorgeous.
This is a really impressive synth.
The specs are great and, as far as I can tell from YouTube vids, it sounds great.
I was dubious about the wisdom of launching it incomplete but the updates keep coming and it’s getting to the stage where I may have to shell out.
