NSFW: Bluetooth Buttplug Speaker Debuts At Winter NAMM Show

At the 2026 NAMM Show, the strangest thing we’ve seen this year has been the Groove Thing, a Bluetooth Buttplug speaker and sex toy.

Groove Thing founder Michael Weiss-Malik – described as “a lifelong passionate music lover, technologist, and pleasure seeker” – financed the initial production of the device via a Kickstarter project, but now is making it more broadly available.

The designers say that the Groove Thing is “like having a third ear.” In your butt.

The Groove Thing is made up of two main components: a standard Bluetooth stereo speaker, and a set of interchangeable wired vibrating resonators, which are designed to be “used internally”.  This includes anal, vaginal, and clitoral options.

If you don’t like the provided options and want to use your own toy, a ‘BYOD’ Vac-U-Lock adapter is available as an optional add-on.

Here’s the official Groove Thing video preview:

They say that the prototype has been “tested in over 170 holes.”

If you’re interested in backend audio solutions or ass-istive listening technology, you can get a hands-on demo at the NAMM Show in the Music Innovation Hub.

If you’ve made it this far, let us know the song that you’d blast on the Groove Thing! Or just make everybody’s day with a snarky-ass comment!

      1. Hey, if thinking it’s a little wierd for shoving a bluetooth speaker up your ass makes me a prude then yep, I’m a proud prude.

  1. Let’s hope the guys who kidnapped muffwigglers and changed its name, do something about all of this, non inclusive and offending item…

    1. that forum changed its name while Mike was still around. I’m fairly certain you’re disrespecting one of his final wishes…

      1. That is definitely not true. He was asked many times to change the name and he refused. The change happened 6months to a year after he passed away. This kind of means to an end “ideology” where we can lie thru our teeth because we and only we have the absolute truth is a disgrace and that is what happened in that forum.

      1. My wife for one. You wouldn’t believe the number of people that have an ostomy bag. Many people with Chron’s, Celiac, and all sorts of issues end up getting them. Then they close up the butt as nothing is connected to it.

  2. And here i was thinking that the music making community is one of the last safe spaces to resort in order to not have the sexualization of everything everything swap over but i was wrong. We are becoming more and more Apes again

    1. We were, we are, and always will be apes (unless science/tech can do something about it). I think you’re being too optimistic.

      1. Yes, everything is sexualized because everything is sexual. Until it’s not. My female friends have all reached that point – menopause. Unfortunately, I have not.

  3. Amazing toy .. i think this device could change how we think about music generally… im deffo going to be producing with this platform in mind 🙂

  4. So much of today’s music sounds like s#*t so this is the perfect way to listen to it. I wonder when these will start showing up on EBay. Groove Thing is a company that has been coming from behind, so this product is like sneaking in the back door.

    1. It’s assactly what I was looking for – a rear speaker for my 6:9 system. The general pubic will love this. Butt, cheek your local laws before buying because I ANAL.

  5. Is it a coincidence that this and Casio’s strap-on device came out at the same time?
There is no such thing as coincidence.
If I had this device, which I probably will, I would “listen” to Wire’s Pink Flag, but I’m not sure I would survive the experience.

  6. This site has truly gone to shit and this article is proof- it’s clearly nothing but a shameless plug. What void does a product like this fill? It only appeals to those with the most severe GAS. I’ll be surprised if I don’t get banned for posting this, the mods here are completely anal retentive.

  7. Is this the first time I’ve commented on Synthtopia? It might be! But this warranted it! Wow! It’s fascinating and I don’t want to try it and yet I want to try it. But like I don’t. But what is it like? Can you hear there? What?? What in the world?!
