  1. Brilliant: It does not get any creepier than a German voice over and some Americans (?) making silly faces. Reminds me of Bowie "I'm a afraid of Americans" … ;-D

  2. Agree, not stock footage… This blog author isn't that bright. I give them credit, though. First music selection in a long time that doesn't suck.

  3. Thanks for your input bob – your input makes all the difference.

FYI – here's what the director has to say about the video:

“I have always been fascinated by stock imagery and stock footage collections,” says director Carl Burgess.

“Searching for ‘stressed businessman’ or ‘old man smiling’ on Getty Images throws up hundreds of great results. There is a surreal quality to these staged clips, and more often than not a really strange dark humour about them.

“Unconvincing acting, forced emotions, cheap lighting are just some of the things that make these clips unique, and these are the qualities I wanted to embrace.”

  6. You win this battle… but the war? Umpteen posts a day, mostly random boring videos and numerous advertorials. Where's the content? Oh yeah, its at CDM…

  7. bob

I'm not that bright – as you pointed out – but I do know that CDM is a great site and that we've got a different focus.

Constructive suggestions for the site are always welcome, too.

  10. i’m from germany and when i heard the intro i was wondering why they put there some german sentences .. in fact those three sentences “Was wird daraus, wenn der Boden mal tot geht? Wo landen diese Sachen? Wo landen diese Instrumente?” do not make any sense to me in german šŸ˜€
    the translation could be:
“What will be when the ground dies someday? Where will be those things? Where will be those instruments?”
    really senseless šŸ˜€

  11. Hey fella!
These German sentences are in fact cut out of a German movie called “Stroszek” from german director Werner Herzog. He also made “Aguierre – Wrath Of God” and “Fitzgeraldo”. He is a genius, by the way.
