  1. I love my Maschine, my favorite bit of gear since it makes drum programming so dynamic, but always wanted a way to get some synthesis into the drum parts. With this VST option that is now a possibility.

I could ReWire Reason 5's Kong into Maschine which is, itself, running in Ableton! That is probably doable, but does anyone know of a VST similar to Kong (in quality and scope) that I could use for individual parts?

  7. I'm a little confused by the question. As it is now you could ReWire Reason/Kong into Live using Kong's multiple outputs, load Maschine as a VST, then send MIDI from Maschine's channels to the individual Kong channels. When you mentioned 'individual parts I'm guessing this kind of setup is what you meant.
Aside from BPM I can't think of a sampling drum app with in built synthesis. BPM is actually very good but a bit constricted next to Maschine. Microtonic, Drumaxx and Tattoo are all great drum synth VST's but none of them allow user samples.
The way it's been going I think NI will add drum synthesis by version 2, their support of this product has been excellent. Hope some of this helps Byteblock.

  13. Thanks for the reply. I had never even heard of Motu BPM before, so that was interesting to see. I like Microtonic, but think I'll demo Drumaxx on your recommendation, after seeing some YouTube videos of it.

  19. Ohhhh I think this is exactly what I want! There is a little mini VST with it called DrumPad for doing individual drum parts. This can create some very funky electronic drum sounds. I'm greatly looking forward to this 1.6 release now! Gonna have acoustic samples mixed with Drumaxx Drumpads for a snare and kick that are going to rock with some articulate distortion through my KP3 for some very expressive Acid-Industrial!
