  1. Is it really so difficult for a company like roland to bring out a cool analog synth ?
Just take a metal case and put some analog stuff in it you a…oles!

  2. I get they want to innovate, but the last innovation was the V-Synth. Why not innovate with true Analog circuitry. Add sampling\arranger capabilities and the digital manipulation engine of a V-Synth? Wouldn’t that be a springboard for innovation if engineered correctly? Roland, if you are reading this i can help you. Please hire me.

  3. Is this a joke? Roland hasn’t done anything interesting since V-piano.. Well, V-piano was a great idea – first 100% modeled hardware digital piano – but they did not care to develope it further. I am sure it had a great potential to run different models like e-pianos with amps and different acoustic environments but what happened… Nothing really. V-piano is still in its prototype stage IMO. And I am grateful I never bought it.

This company is mainly interested in entry level customers. How many digital Juno models do they have? Many and all them share this low level sound quality. Little bit of everything and nothing is professional…

I gave up with this company years ago when I sold my RD-700gx and I’ve never looked back to them.

    1. aimed at that market of people who want to play a performance instrument like a piano?

say what you want it makes better business sense than making instruments niche market

  4. Roland has recently discontinued both the FP4f and. FP7f so their news should be including replacements for those. As far as a new arranger, who really cares about that?

  5. comming back with an arranger? Wow furthermore it has two displays…another companys like korg in his kingkorg have removed its big touch lcd displays for reducing the price… Because when you use current keyboards, in the case you need a big sreen for editing, usually you use the computer or an ipad.
But in Roland they smarter than everyone and prefer you pay big lcds… are they selling you a better sound? A musical instrument? No man, they are selling you technology which you have now.
I don´t want lots of touch lcd screens in my studio…I need good oscilators or waves, need good filters, need good effects because I usually buy a synth for its sound. Not for boast technology¡

After saying it i’m wait for your knives 😉

  7. Roland has lost their way and their marketing department insists on looking like fools by saying We Are Back. A new Vsynth might fix the perception of this company. I would like to see another rack Vsynth at a price more of us could afford.

  8. As I recall, the V-Synth didn’t exactly set the market ablaze. The GT model in particular is almost daunting, because it demands a lot of real-time interaction and planning that isn’t in line with the majority. I think its like a cello among synths, but no innovation can fly if it doesn’t sufficently grab the popular mindset and under-performs in sales. I’d love to see more people bring out what a synth like that can do, but a dream-synth that is too top-heavy with features or has a crappy GUI isn’t much of a dream. There’s a good reason for them to release a new arranger: people buy them in larger numbers than they do for V-Synths. That’s the simple reason you don’t see a V-Synth Jr.

  9. Tbh. I think they did a good move with the VP vocal/vocoder ensemble line of keyboards. They raised the bar high in that specific area in vocal harmony synthesis technology. But it wasnt a big hit because people saw it as a gimmick and it was badly promoted with stereotypical American commercial presenters and demonstrations with the typical amazing grace Asian A-grade student. The only guys who did a bit of justice on the product was the bald jordan rudess and some mexican fatso that demos a lot of other roland stuff on youtube. Anyways, the vp-550 was a silent hit for musicians like Air, Shook and Benny Sings. What im trying to say is as long as Roland keeps innovating I think they are capable in producing great products. But they should listen to the consumers, musicians and artists and be open for change and feedback.

  10. It’s not the arranger I was laughing at… it was the “We are Back” thing which is humorous. And sure it makes sense to sell an arranger because the market is big, but don’t forget that the sexy “niche” products get used by big names, and that in turn helps drive sales. It’s a healthy feedback loop.
