Panels Announced For Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit

mountain-oasis-music-summitOrganizers of the Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit, which takes place Oct. 25-27 in downtown Asheville, have announced several panel discussions that will be held during the event, in addition to the music lineup.

Planned panels include an Inventors’ Roundtable and an Artist Spotlight: An Interview with Gary Numan, both held at Diana Wortham Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Inventors’ Roundtable

Saturday, October 26, 12:30-2 p.m.

Some of the most forward-thinking minds in the industry come together to discuss their projects, past and present, and the mark they’ve made on the burgeoning and ever-evolving world of electronic music. Moderated by Matthew Sherwood of Make Noise and Sherwood’s Music (builder of custom amplifiers), the Inventors’ Roundtable will feature participants including Paul Vo (inventor of the Moog Guitar and Vo-96 acoustic synthesizer), Richard Devine (electronic musician and sound designer), Tony Rolando (founder of Make Noise) and August Worley (inventor of the Pyradym).

Artist Spotlight: An Interview with Gary Numan

Saturday, October 26, 4-5 p.m.
From his early days with Tubeway Army to his upcoming album, Splinter, the panel will cover Gary Numan’s expansive career, his influences, and what we can expect from the pioneer in the future. The interview will be conducted by Geary Yelton of Electronic Musician Magazine.
