  1. Let me get this straight. Korg put aftertouch on this, but not on other important keyboards they make, like the Nautilus, for instance. Of course they’re not telling us how many thousands of dollars this reissue will cost.

    1. bernard fevrre from black devil disco club

      amazing work

ps wasnt the price on one of there semi recent past re-issues also realy high, then later they made a more affordable version for mass production? i forgot which model it was.

    1. This looks amazing though, much more affordable than things like the 2600 reissue or Moog’s modular reissues, and much more fun, too.

        1. are you familiar with subjectivity? or the concept of an “opinion”… if not, you should check that out………

          because it will explain EVERYTHING

    2. If Roland made reissues the way Korg is, they would easily be double the price. Just look at the price of their system 100 modules.

      1. If Roland did full-size reissues of their most popular vintage gear, they’d sell just as fast as Moog, Korg & Sequential reissues.

Can you imagine how quickly a Jupiter 8 reissue would sell out?

        1. They would sell out to collectors for sure, but when Roland’s Jupiter 8 clone is $7,000, all the comments here would just be “MUH PRICE!!! WHERE BEHRINGER CLONE????”

        2. Roland wouldn’t even have to make “full size” versions to satisfy me. A Jupiter 8/6 the size of a Novation Peak would be very useful. They would have full size controls, and could be paired with a master keyboard when required.

  2. Really love that they reissued this synth as a high-quality build! But I would had liked to see an analog input for the clock signal to the arpeggiator and the possibility to control the filter by CV. It would hardly had added anything to the production costs, but would have made it much more flexible. I guess the filter CV should be easy to mod later on, but it’s a shame to have to start drilling on a brand new expensive synth…

    1. off-topic, but it’s weird that instead of a dedicated volca section they have the analog volcas under analog and all the digital volcas are simply absent from their product page.

  3. It’s retaliing for AUD$3000 in Australia. For that money I could get an ASM Hydrasynth Deluxe, which is a far more capable and powerful synth – or a Behringer Poly D (Minimoog clone) and Behringer 2600 Blue Marvin, and still have change.

I know it’s ‘Kitaro’s synth’ but to me, its over priced, just as the Korg ARP 2600 FS was over-priced, and produced in too few numbers.

  4. **spoiler alert!!**

ok i was not expecting him to walk into a cavern and play epic 70s psychedelic space music, i have to say that was pretty awesome.

it actually sounds amazing but would not be justifiable, nice for the peeps who grab one and take a fun nostalgic trip.

  5. Not that impressed with the demo as such. The synth is capable of quite a spectre of sound. I ordered mine a year ago – by now the credit card company have returned my money twice, the last time I chose to not renew the order – and I have now given up on this project down memory lane (yes – I am among those who owned a 700S in the 70s – however I still do have an 800DV here). Instead my money will be spent on a Hydrasynth Deluxe.

  6. Sounds great. Weirdly in love with the jam in the cave. Probably takes up too much space and is too specific for my needs, but if it fits the bill for you, I imagine you can have a lot of fun with this.

  7. tis everything I want. nob per sound (Ultranova screen now needs to be in Braile, (model D takes work)), plumbs into my current set up (sound via USB? (no probs if no)), nob where you can noddle while playing (Christine Mc Vie stylie (high up at eye level)), IT WILL FIT IN THAT SPARE SPACE (nobs on the front so can go right at the top). B********ks the Credit card has gone awol. PPPS if I wanted a Korg Minimonosuperglue S (SE) f (actually I do) I would write on the relative page. Just like the look of this one that’s all. (Channelling Ringo “Peace and Love” everyone “I am the *&%^ click track “Peace and Love””)

  8. nitpicky, but Wakeman never used a Moog modular, just a Polymoog and several Minis.

I played an original miniKorg in high school jazz band, mostly for bass. Had some nice sounds but you quickly reach the limit of what it can do for you. Obv the 700S and now the new ones have a lot more flexibility, but…for US$2200 and only 14 preset slots, I’ll have to pass.

  9. For comparison: it’s 10% more expensive than the Arturia Matrixbrute; around 40% more expensive than the SI Pro-3; just U$100 less than a SI Prophet-6 module; and goes for the same price as an SI Prophet Rev2 8-voice Module PLUS a Moog Subsequent 25.
