The Bob Moog Foundation has announced a new 2024 calendar, Bob Moog, His Life and Work, commemorating the synth pioneer’s 90th birthday.
The calendar traces his first 50 years through professional and personal photos, letters, and other historical documentation drawn from both the Bob Moog Foundation Archives and the private collection of the Moog Family Archives.
Beginning when Moog was just 10 years old, the calendar brings to light his academic ambitions, personal interests and relationships, his entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, and his growing family during an intense time of expansion for his original business, R.A. Moog Company, as well as his financial, personal, and professional challenges.
“This calendar gives us the opportunity to share Bob Moog on a more personal level,” notes Michelle Moog-Koussa, Executive Director of the Bob Moog Foundation. “Through a broad array of beautiful vintage photos, insightful personal correspondence, and more, Bob is conveyed as a complex and nuanced human being, in sharp contrast to his iconic status as the inventor of the Moog synthesizer. Our hope is that people come away with a greater sense of him as a creative, driven, entrepreneurial spirit whose life was full of unexpected twists and turns.”
Pricing and Availability:
The calendar is available for pre-order for $22 USD. All proceeds benefit the educational and archive preservation efforts of the Bob Moog Foundation.
Bob Moog’s biography, Switched On: Bob Moog and the Synthesizer Revolution, is also available.
