NAMM Show News: Roland Updates GALAXIAS ‘Super Instrument’

Ahead of the 2025 NAMM Show, Roland has released GALAXIAS 1.5, the latest update to their software “Super Instrument”.

GALAXIAS packs over 23,000 sounds, from dozens of instruments and effects, into a single creative environment. GALAXIAS runs as a standalone app or DAW plug-in and is included with Roland Cloud Ultimate membership.

GALAXIAS 1.5 expands on a host of recently released features such as in-app Sound Pack downloading, enhanced Macro Controls (including Instrument Macro Control presets), Scene View for creative control over vital parameters, and the CHORDS sequencer.

  1. Phew, that’s Roland’s answer to Omnisphere. I prefer to have most of my instruments on-board where I can. Like the big “O,” this feels too big to trust that far. To be fair, though, I have a couple of Roland Cloud synths and they perform well. Their site for them is a little clunky, but once you get it, its plenty smooth.

I’m still wary of the cloud, so I don’t see myself taking this on, but its all been improving. One example: its the only place to get a D-50. They included the PG-1000 programmer, so I’ve got a healthy library going. Its been all Win so far.

  2. Roland?

    Where are the MC-202, Jupiter-6, System-100M, System-700, JP-8000/8080 etc?
Seriously, are you working on more instruments at all?
