Roland Announces V-STAGE Performance Keyboards at NAMM Show

2025 NAMM Show News: Roland has introduced V-STAGE, a new line of performance keyboard for professional musicians.

V-STAGE keyboards feature four independent sound engines, based on Roland’s behavior modeling and sound technologies. Four discrete sections provide dedicated controls:

  • Acoustic Piano— This section offers pianos powered by V-Piano technology, including two concert grands, an upright piano, and a new felt-treated model with a “unique velvety sound”. Sounds are realized through a modeled system of virtual string behaviors, soundboard materials, and hammer construction.
  • Electric Piano— This newly developed EP engine includes tine, reed, digital piano, and clavinet instruments based on Roland’s SuperNATURAL technology. Tremolo, amp simulator, and curated MFX processing are within easy reach, along with a “Sound Lift” knob that they say is for “cutting through dense band mixes”.
  • Organ— This section features a three-layer console organ, powered by the latest generation of Roland’s Virtual Tone Wheel tech ,plus two classic transistor models and a pipe organ. Harmonic bars and percussion controls provide an authentic organ experience, complemented by overdrive, vibrato/chorus, and a rotary speaker effect with variable speed, brake control, and mic positioning.
  • Synthesizer— Driven by Roland’s ZEN-Core engine, this section provides over 400 onboard tones. Two simultaneous parts are available with sound shaping via attack, release, filter, and other controls. V-STAGE also supports ZEN-Core patch and sound options on Roland Cloud. Included with V-STAGE are free downloads of Model Expansions titles based on the JUPITER-8, JUNO-106, and other vintage Roland analog synths.

Here’s the official V-Stage intro video:

The V-STAGE interface is designed for live performance, with an intuitive panel layout, color LCD, and clearly labeled controls. There’s also a Total Effects section with a large selection from the Roland library and a Master section with EQ and compression to fine-tune the overall output.

Using 512 Scene memories and the Scene Chain function, players can save complete keyboard setups and rapidly access them while performing on stage.

V-STAGE offers versatile balanced output connectivity options. There’s also an XLR microphone input and a stereo line input for mixing in an external instrument. And with the class-compliant USB-C audio / MIDI interface, it’s simple to integrate computers and mobile devices with V-STAGE.

There are two V-STAGE models:

  • V-STAGE 88 offers an authentic acoustic piano experience, with an 88-note weighted keyboard with hammer action, escapement, and Ivory Feel keys.
  • V-STAGE 76 features a newly developed 76-note semi-weighted waterfall keyboard for a traditional organ feel and synth playability.
