Rhodes Wurli Recreates Classic Wurlitzer 200A Electric Piano Sound

Rhodes Music has introduced Rhodes Wurli, a new virtual instrument based on the classic Wurlitzer 200A electric piano, for both MacOS & Windows.

They say that “the Rhodes Wurli captures every nuance of the famous reed-based electric piano, creating an instrument built for players, producers and purists who crave authentic tone and ultimate playability.”

Features:

  • User Interface – Designed by Axel Hartmann, the interface features one-knob-per-function control, giving you direct access to essential sound-shaping tools.
  • Presets – Browse and save presets with ease. Quickly scroll through preset folders or update your sound using the ‘Save’ and ‘Save As’ functions. All parameters are saved within each preset, making recall and experimentation fast and intuitive.
  • Amps, Speakers & Mics – Switch between amplifier, speaker, and microphone models with detailed visual feedback for every selection.
    • Included Amplifier: Classic DUO Valve Amp
    • Included Speakers: Modelled front panel Wurli speakers
    • Included Microphones: Iconic dynamic and cardioid microphones
    • When amp or mic is set to NONE, the module is bypassed and the visual dims to indicate it’s not in the signal path.
  • Tuning & Timbre – Unlock a wide spectrum of tonal character with advanced global tuning tools:
    • Timbre Shift: Re-voice the Wurli in real time for unique character variation
    • Global Tune: Adjust global pitch to match out-of-tune instruments or recordings
    • Pedal Noise: Add or remove authentic mechanical pedal sounds
  • Sound Modules:
    • Preamp – 200A-style preamp with volume and drive controls
    • EQ – MK8 EQ module featuring sweepable mid frequencies and low/high bands
    • Vibrato – 200A mono vibrato with rate and depth controls
    • Chorus – MK8/V8 Pro-style bucket-brigade chorus with rich modulation
    • Phaser – Lush VCA-based phaser with depth and rate controls
    • Delay – MK8/V8 Pro-style bucket-brigade delay with time, feedback, and mix controls
  • Advanced Features:
    • DAW Sync – Time-based effects (vibrato, chorus, phaser, delay) can sync to your host tempo
    • MIDI Control – Instantly map any plugin control to external MIDI hardware via right-click assignment
    • Velocity Sensitivity – Adjust curve and depth to suit your controller and playing style

  1. EPs are always playable for me. Does anyone know if this is samples of modelling? Modelling allows more mangling (or can for the adventurous developers). Funny when it says knob per function. It’s software! It doesn’t cost any more to have knob per function
