Developer Michael Zarimis shared this video that provides a concise overview of his work creating a futuristic MIDI guitar, the Quadwave.

The Quadwave is a streamlined, next-generation digital guitar MIDI controller that lets you play sounds no guitar or bass can. There are no strings to tune, no moving parts to break – just a lightning-fast capacitive neck and a powerful multi-touch pad that transforms how you play.

“I really wanted to design something that lets you access synth playing styles that keyboards cannot,” he told us. “For example, playing the same note again and again really fast like alternate picking in heavy metal… but for a synthesizer. Or modulating every note as it is played by changing synth parameters based on where the user taps on the touchpad.”
