In his latest video, German synthesist Hainbach explores the Jörgensen Tuttivox, a rare vintage instrument created by Harald Bode & Rene Seybold.
Here’s what Hainbach has to say about it:
“I have been very interested in the work of German inventor and engineer Harald Bode. His essays and instruments were hugely influential on Robert Moog, Don Buchla and many others, and laid the ground work to the synthesizers of today. Sadly, most of his more experimental designs don’t survive.
But some of his more conventional instruments do, like his adaption of the proto-synth Clavioline he made for Jörgensen, the Tuttivox (with involvement/Patents to Rene Seybold). “

There’s one I don’t expect to see as a softsynth! As much of an oddball as it is, there are still several tones in it I’d love to have. I’ve got two static samples of an Ondes Martenot and they’re uniquely usable. Those organic patches keep on giving.
Hainbach is a very engaging neo-crackpot. His explorations make the overall game more fun. I learn all sorts of things from left field thanks to him. He’s clearly one of Us. Great demo!
“Hainbach is a very engaging neo-crackpot.”
Yes, he’s got his own complete vibe and his passion for quirky instruments shows up in both his videos and his music.
He’s also one of the few synth Youtubers that has achieved success by committing to his quirky passions vs chasing after the newest thing or fake controversies. So massive respect for the guy for what he’s achieved. His videos are always a must-watch for me, because I always learn about gear I didn’t know about, and he always demonstrates it in a really musical way.
