Pittsburgh Modular shared that the Lifeforms SV-1 Mini – an updated version of their Lifeforms SV-1 all-in-one Eurorack synth voice module – will be available in Jan of 2027:
“Update on the Lifeforms SV-1 Mini. We sharpened our pencils and did all the math. Retail will be $599. That is $200 less than the original SV-1! Production SHOULD be finished by mid December and they SHOULD be shipping to buyers mid-January.
All great news. So I want feedback on preorders. Should we take preorders? When should they start? The first run will be 300 units.”

I paid $500 for my Make Noise 0-coast in 2016 pre-Covid, pre last 9 years of insane inflation, so I don’t understand your comment.
IDK, the price doesn’t seem high for the number of “modules” you get. Feels like a cliche to say everything costs more than it did a few years ago

Pittsburgh seems to be priced fairly competitively for this type of Eurorack synth module.

They’re normally about $600, though. It will be interesting to see if the Moog price cuts become permanent. $499 seems like a good price for these – I paid more for mine.
What were you thinking of as their ‘competition’?
The most aggressively priced Euro synth module comparable to this would probably be the Crea8Audio West Pest, which is around $250, but is significantly less ‘deep’. The West Pest was designed by Richard Nicol at PM, too, ironically!
Certainly true, but I’d argue PM have earned their brand premium. People who like their gear *really* like it.
Is it digital or is all analog? What are the updates? The same only in smaller box? More info would be nice. Mostly the tell you first what the have and then come with a price. Probably first come with higher price. The sale or discount price would be around 500 dollar. I gonna buy it if it looks as good as the prototype.
