AfroDJMac is back with another Two Minute Tip for Ableton Live users – this time looking at how to side chain Ableton Live’s Auto Filter.
“This will help get your tracks moving and reacting to each other,” he notes.
See the full post at the AfroDJMac site for more details.

Gee, you use the sidechain button, just like the compressor. And then you route some audio into the sidechain. Astonishing. Can’t help feeling that AfroDJMac is just using Synthtopia to generate some pageviews for his YouTube channel…
Hot debate. What do you think?

He took 2 minutes to remind some people and inform a number of people of one of the few unique and super useful/usable features in ableton that tends to get lost behind the couch cushions. No one made anyone watch it.

just picking up on that? how bout the recycled packs that he slaps his name on? not bashing him, he does have some good informative stuff. i just was a little put off when inside his chains you can see tags from the people that actually put the time/effort in. and then this type stuff, basically milking the clock.

Well it’s not his best video ever indeed, but still it rather informative and straight-to-the-point.

I know he makes videos of some basic information, and maybe he uses other peoples presets. But before trashing the guy, why dont you make a better video of something YOU do thats new and interesting… You may be a certified Ableton instructor (doubtful) so why not share your knowledge instead of being a dick… No I’m not Afrodjmac but I respect what he does; spits out a new rack every week for over a year, shares them for free, and he still has a band, and gigs regularly…WHAT DO YOU DO?

My Hero
It’s cool if you guys aren’t down with what I’m doing, but I promise I never steal! Sometimes I collaborate, and if I do I always make sure to give credit. Like it or not, I wish you all the best
Peace
