€799 is such a massive stretch for this – considering your not actually getting full versions of V Collection instruments
MicroKorg 2 is going for €575 and is far more capable
€700,- for a deliberately crippled preset player.
At least all those influencers aren’t hyping this junk.. ow wait.

I liike the idea of 3 octave live but for anyone who’s spent significant time (thousands of hours) playing keys, the thought of playing arbitrary mini-keys (everyone’s minis are very different) live is horrible.
It’s not like 37 full size keys would add all that much to the overall dimensions.
On the plus side, Arturia’s synths are absolutely packed with quality.
Just say NO to mini keys!
Well there are several other versions with regular keys so you’re not making any sense
I quite like mini keys and the small form factor but you should be getting full versions of the V collection synths for 799

The STORY is about the mini key version which is what I was commenting about. WTF does that have to do other versions of the damn hardware when the story is about the 37 mini key version?

It’s a reasonable price for a portable stand-alone instrument that can run the V Collection synths *without* an external computer. If you only use V Collection at home, a decent MIDI controller probably makes more sense.
Many of us already have V Collection, and the integration is excellent — I can edit patches on my computer and transfer them to Astrolab for live use.

It runs a bunch of V collection presets with some macro controls. That’s neither here nor there – I’m sure that’s enough to make good sounds and keeps the interface uncluttered
The issue is that you don’t get a full version of the plugins so you can make your own patches/macros and upload them to the Astrolab yourself
For the price you should be able to do this

For owners and fans of the V collection who play live, this could be the thing. Too bad it does not at least include the sequence and arp functionality of the new Keystep 2.
Arturia should also use some of their resources to update and revive Spark instead of modeling yet another vintage synth.
