Moog Music Updates Minifooger Motif With Release of New MF Chorus, MF Flange

Today Moog Music announced the release of two new MiniFooger pedals, the MF Chorus Bucket Brigade Time Modulator and the MF Flange Bucket Brigade Harmonic Manipulator.

Moof_MF_chorusThe MF CHORUS is a 100% analog BBD-based time modulation pedal that is capable of a wide range of sonic shifting and manipulation in both mono and stereo output modes. A three-position Mix switch quickly transitions the effect from subtle shifting and swirling into analog vibrato. The wide-range Time and Feedback controls allow users to further customize each sound to their personal taste. Like all Minifooger Analog Effects, the MF Chorus features a dedicated expression pedal input on its rear panel. This input provides hands-free control over one parameter – the Rate knob.

Moog_MF_flangeThe MF FLANGE is a 100% analog BBD-based harmonic manipulator pedal designed to “far exceed” the voicing and flexibility constraints of traditional flanger designs. The MF Flange features two dedicated voicing modes, vocal and traditional, which the user selects via the two-position Type switch. The wide-range Time and Feedback controls allow for fine-tuning of the MF Flange’s “sonic vocabulary,” which reaches from bright metallic modulation and classic jet flange, to chaotic pitch shifting and even analog chorus. This Minifooger also features a dedicated expression pedal input on its rear panel. On the MF Flange, this pedal input provides hands-free control over one parameter – the Time knob.

New ‘Fooger look. In addition to the release of the MF CHORUS and MF FLANGE, Moog Music has also announced a new motif for the Minifooger family of analog effects that marks a departure from the pedal’s original all-black aesthetic. Still hand-built in Asheville, NC. each Minifooger unit is housed in a compact, cast aluminum enclosure and features a 100% analog signal path, true bypass switching, optional battery power, and a single expression pedal input providing hands-free control over one specified parameter within each unit.

  1. I hate the new look. I want the chorus. But I just can’t buy one because I find the design so tacky and gross that it gives me anxiety. I’m hoping they’ll come out with another design in the future, or maybe release a limited edition that doesn’t disturb me.

    1. I disagree. I think both the new and old design look great. There’s nothing tacky or flashy about it… its a black pedal

      1. it is a black pedal that would look decent without these silvery triangles. yes, they are useful to tell boxes apart. no, they do not look nice.

  2. I just hope the new pedals retain the same size and shape as the old ones. I don’t really care about the aesthetic choices so much.

I have an MF-Delay and I plan to get the ring modulator too, so I hope I can put my old-look pedal beside a new-look one and have the dimensions be the same!
