Pimp My Stylophone! Turn A Stylophone Into A Cheap MIDI Perfomance Controller

This video demonstrates a Stylophone converted to a MIDI performance controller, with additional controls added for pitch bend, mod wheel, note velocity, octave up/down and MIDI note hold.

The Stylophone controller is based on a PIC16F688 microcontroller… for info and source code see Stuff and Nonsense for details.

Since I had to rip out the guts of the Stylophone (a cheap broken one off ebay) it no longer makes any sound by itself.. what you’re hearing is coming out of Propellerheads Reason, driven by MIDI.

All music by me.
