Would It Be Wrong To Throw This Woman In A Dumpster?

Off Topic: This is completely off topic and a complete downer  – but I found it to be a visceral reminder how mundane the face of evil is.

A woman, walking by a primary school, sees a cat, stops, thinks for a moment and then throws the cat in the trash and briskly walks away.

Makes you wonder how many completely ordinary women, like this one, that you’ve seen in your life, doesn’t it?

  13. Well, it's not like she threw a person into a dumpster or killed an animal. Surely the cat just got out on its own or if not was let go by the next person who came along to put some garbage into the can? The only thing that's really shocking about this video is its existence and the reaction to it: Oh my gosh, now look how useful videotaping everything and everyone is, because some cat got thrown into a dumpster. I hope the people who thought this are stopped before they run for school board or town council or whatever form of participation is within their reach.

  14. It seems the cat was rescued about 16 hours later. But it might not have been that way – that sort of dustbin is emptied mechanically and the contents crushed when they enter the van – without a person lifting the lid and looking inside first.

  16. As a cat lover, this is terrible. I am sure that the woman, in her own mind, had a reason, but as far as I am concerned, what she did was inexcusable. Now, I have to ask this, which is worse ?
    a woman throwing a cat in a trash can ? or the comment from those wishing brutal harm on the woman ?

    Maybe this sort of evil stupidity can encourage the less stupid of us to renew our desires to not be awful and callous?

  19. While I do agree with the previous statement ('an eye for an eye…') I basically only do so because of the truth it holds and the fact that many people overreact.

    This one can't go unpunished in my opinion, its extremely cruel. Not to mention what could have happened (say the cat gets worn out after a while and makes no noise anymore. $person comes up and dumps a heavy sack of trash into the dumpster?).

    $poster meant it in a bit of fun I think but I do agree. The best punishment IMO is a huge metal container (not too huge), dump the woman in there and leave her there for, say, 8 hours or so. A fine and all the death threats in the world will never make her realize the cruelties of her actions.

    And no; given the way the reacted I have no hope what so ever that she'll learn that this is wrong. She knew that right from the start, which make makes this even more despicable.

  21. Apparently her identity has been revealed and the wave of threats has required that the police offer her protection. Once her home is identified, she's going to have a pretty miserable life and plenty of time to regret her actions.

    Does that satisfy the revenge brigade amongst you? Go back to your lives people, nothing else to see here – at least until somebody admits that the whole thing was just a publicity-seeking hoax, as so often happens.

  22. Cats are a menace, serial killers out of control, that terrorise and kill all forms of wildlife where I live, one less cat is better for everybody. I'm fed up of owners who do not give a shit about their cats behaviour and say "well its a cat". I'm fed up of them shitting on my garden and killiing the birds. Maybe I should set up traps for them and throw them in a river ? The birds and frogs would be better off without them where I live.

    No, I don't agree with the extremists who will stoop so low as to issuing death threats. Then again, in a way this woman has placed herself, although not physically, in the exact same position she put the cat in. A situation from where is seemingly no escape and which will surely result in your demise if no one comes out to help you.

    With that in mind I say that although I don't agree with the methods themselves I think she may just as well been given the treatment she deserved. Problem with this is that people usually don't know when to stop. …just like in the middle ages..

    Do I see some (crude) disturbing parallels here? How much did we evolve anyway ?

    i know it's cruel but i wonder how many of you stop to think how much cruelty towards animals happens all the time and how many of you will still be cruel to other animals or contribute towards a system that tortures animals and not even think about it. not just the animals that are considered your cat or dog.

    I say throw her in a locked dumpster, but with a twist;
    Sentence her to a twelve hour shift of dumpster habitation with three people slamming the outsides with metal bats constantly.
    Since she chose to get her rocks off by hurting a scared kitty lets see how she likes to be on the other end.

    Cats are not serial killers = they stalk and kill some birds just as some birds will stalk other birds and eat their eggs.
    Cats do less damage than the human animal = serial killing is a human activity, by the way = no other species of animal participates in that particular bit of fun for the sake of etertainment.
    As for "shitting" in your garden I venture to guess you have pissed on some persons tree, when convenient for you or shat behind some persons hedge. Nothing quite so disgusting as human excrement by the roadside cause your too lazy or too drunk to find a toilet.
    The cat covers its poop what abour you precious?

  34. It sounds like the owners who are the problem, not the cats. We blame little kids and animals for their bad behavior, when it's the parents and owners who are negligent and let them run wild. Let the owners know how you feel and maybe you will make a difference in the world.

  36. I do wish her punishment would be to live in a dumpster for 15 hours. Maybe she would understand then that all living things deserve respect.

  37. I applaud all of those who have made comments about this atrocity. Of course there are worse things happening all over the world, but thank God for the people who stand up and give their voice or their help for those without a voice. Don't downplay this incident. Thank y'all for speaking your mind about this cruelty, and don't ever stop. And to think, this lady thought it was funny. I hope she gets help.
