New iPad App Lets You Control Ableton Live From 100 Meters Away

iPad Music Software: This video captures a demo of usingĀ TouchAble for iPad to control Ableton Live from 100 meters.

That sounds amazingly awesome – until you think about how many times you’ve needed to control Ableton Live from 100 meters away.

The video does demonstrate, though, that TouchAble frees live users to perform away from their computer – anywhere within WiFi range.

  1. You know something that really bugs me about apple products – they give them all shiny reflective screens. It looks great in the shop and all, but try and use them outside and you've no chance. You can't even buy a pc laptop these days without a reflective screen as they all want to copy apple. All that money researched into making screens anti glare etc, now in the bin because someone at apple said 'oh make the screen shiny, we like shiny stuff, and the mac boys will lap it up'!

  2. On my Ipad today ! Looks reaaaaly nice, works like a charm, still some minor bugs though (choppy connection), but for a first release, it's a very good job. The most useful app for me at this day. Thumbs up !

  3. Actually, Toshiba and Sony PCs had the shiny laptop screens long before Apple. I think Apple figured it was what the masses wanted and in their effort to get a larger slice of the pie, joined in. Not characteristic of Apple, but whatever. I haven't bought a Mac laptop since those damn shiny screens showed up. I am not a fan.

  4. You can choose an anti-glare screen with macbook pros. Other than that, matte protective films are the best solution for iphone and iPad.

  5. I ordered all my Macs with the Anti-Glare screen. I can't stand the glossy. Especially in a dark club environment with lightshows and such. Almost impossible to see the screen without the anti-glare on it.
