Organizers of Synthplex – an “All Things Electronic Music” festival being held in Burbank, California October 27-30th, 2022 – shared this preview of this year’s Pop Up Synth Museum.
Each year, Synthplex curates the Pop-Up Synth Museum, where you can get ‘hands-on’ experience with a wide range of unique and rare vintage synthesizers. The Museum allows visitors to play, and in most cases, sample/record their creative discoveries on these vintage instruments, with the help of museum docents to guide and teach them about the instruments.
Each year, 100% of proceeds from the Synthplex Pop-Up Synth Museum go to a music-based educational charity. For 2022, Synthplex has selected The Bob Moog Foundation for its work with school children through Dr. Bob’s Sound School.

I love the idea of being assisted in sampling a few of these instruments. I’m sure pragmatism & manners mean you can only get a few snips from any you play, but what snips, huh? Processing those would be fun. Its a great addition to the show.
