At Superbooth 2024, held May 16-18 in Berlin, composer & synthesist Matt Johnson (Jamiroquai) gave a Gesprächskonzert demonstrating the Yamaha Montage M8x.
Johnson has chops to spare, and does a great job not just of showing what the Montage M8x is capable of, but showing the expressive possibilities of Yamaha’s flagship synthesizer.

Matt Johnson sounds great on every synth – reminding us that the player is more important than the instrument.
But I also love how he also understands and appreciates the good features of each instrument and then shows how those features can be used in a musical context.
Also: Polyphonic aftertouch!! Only on the M8x model though, but still nice to see (and hear.)
