cheaper than a Synth Buddy….?
Synth Buddy is less noisy too i bet. lol.
This is another gorgeous thing I don’t really need, but want.
What is the deal with these over hyped switch things? I guess the only thing missing now is a cloud subscription requirement.
nah, iLok for this stuff.
From a modwiggler forum on this topic.
Why not just get this?

40. bucks. 8 Synths. Sounds amazing.
nobody cares what muffwiggler says.
Amj cares… You are gonna hurt his feelings
apparently not! moderation approve-a’vous!
You’re right ya know. Meanie.
🙁
sweet. bought the $30 6 input one. thanks for the heads up
Can just buy a behringer x32 rackmount mixer for the same price prob. Don’t waste your time with this.
My biggest need for one of these handy desktop switchers is to flexibly switch or connect all the small desktop music making devices I have that have both inputs and outputs, all stereo of course. As of now, 2 Organelles, 2 PiSounds, one Plinky, one Norns, one Wildwood Lightning, an old OP1, and an iPad. And all of these can function as synths, samplers, and effects. Also all but the Organelles have 1/8 jacks… How about a mini desktop patchbay/switcher with stereo 1/8 jacks to reduce my desktop clutter, y cords, adapters, and wires that go down to my interface?
It seems overpriced for what it is. Although we don’t have pricing yet, the dial an the display, make it look quite expensive.
If you have a sound interface with limited inputs, you are better served with an interface with more inputs, as then you can have the sources connected all at the same time. I guess the point if digital re-call is so that you can get your source connected in a project you open. However, all sources connected to this are limited to the single output. So just one source in your project.
It is one thing if it had at least some more outputs and you realistically only used some of them. Or if they made it modular somehow with a specific connector to connect to an expansion-box so you could built a larger system with more inputs and outputs, and this was just the main control unit.
Even on stage, you might more than one source at the time.
The synth buddy has a similar limitaion, but no digital re-call. but honestly you can just make a note, if you are willing to live with the single source limitation. It is just one swtich.
Their patch system makes sense, as you can re-call complex hardware chains. A simple 1 source to 1 output, is easily done by hand, via a patchbay or a synth buddy, if you can’t find any way to expand the number of inputs.
How to solve a simple problem using rocket science.
Next step, a hardware input selector that you can only access through the internet
or, one you have to write an AI script for to get it to work. and then it doesn’t.
all in all, a very disappointing NAMM all around. better luck next year… not.
